Brian Gruber, MD, MBA, Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon Founder

Dr. Gruber

As a kid, Brian Gruber, MD, MBA, board certified orthopedic surgeon loved playing baseball. Naturally, like lots of kids, he thought he’d be a pro baseball player. However, a baseball pitching injury when he was 12 brought him into an orthopedic surgeon’s office and from that day on, he had a new life goal and became focused on becoming an orthopedic surgeon.

Dr. Gruber spent many years on the path to pursuing his goal, beginning with an undergraduate degree from Newman University in Kansas where he was also an academic All-American in Baseball. He then went on to graduate with honors and Alpha Omega Alpha recognition from the University of Illinois Chicago. Dr. Gruber completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Michigan Hospital and Health System in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and then completed his orthopedic and sports medicine training at Washington University. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and has specific training in orthopedic Sports Medicine.

Dr. Gruber has expertise in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee as well as total knee replacement surgery using the Mako robotic arm-assisted technology. His specific interests are rotator cuff disease and anterior cruciate ligament injury to the knee. Research has always been a passion for Dr. Gruber, and he has been published in the premier orthopedic journals Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and Journal of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery.

When Dr. Gruber founded Integrated Orthopedics, after over a decade of practicing as an orthopedic surgeon, he had one goal:

To build an integrated orthopedic practice that puts patients first and provides the highest quality patient experience.

The launch of Integrated Orthopedics Surgical Services completes Dr.Gruber’s vision for a complete orthopedic experience of continuity of care for the patient. Now patients can receive a fully-integrated care experience from the time we meet them at Integrated Orthopedics, our orthopedics clinic, to surgery to recovery in our physical therapy center.

What drives Dr. Gruber most is watching people get better and regain quality of life. Just like the orthopedic surgeon who fixed Dr. Gruber’s elbow when he was 12, which allowed him to continue playing baseball, including at the collegiate level.

Brian Gruber, MD and the team at Integrated Surgical Services are grateful that you are considering us for your orthopedic surgery.
